Museums, art galleries Pablo Picasso is one of the most well known artists of the twentieth
century. Though born in Malaga, Spain in 1881, he spend a major portion
of his life in Paris and most of his famous artworks were created while
in France.
The Musée Picasso in Paris is home to a collection of
his artworks which the artist held in his possession throughout his
lifetime. After his death ownership of the works was transferred to the
French government in lieu of death duties. It consists of 90 paintings
and sculptures and over 80 works on paper which span Pablo Picasso's
complete range of work.
Since 1985, the Musée National Picasso
is located in the Hôtel Salé in Paris, a seventeenth-century palace
located in the centre of the city. They now constitute the most
substantial and significant collection of works by the artist Picasso.
On the ocassion of the 20th anniversary , the the National Gallery in
Berlin present a comprehensive exhibition of the artworks of Picasso.
